Eligibility to Apply

In order to be eligible to apply for a place in one of our courses, overseas students must have:

  1. For an undergraduate degree a minimum educational qualification equivalent to Victorian Year 12.

  2. For a Graduate program an undergraduate degree in any discipline OR at least 5 years documented relevant work/professional experience.
*Documented work/professional experience means proof of this relevant work experience, such as a written statement on official letterhead from an employer including the types of duties performed and the level at which the applicant operates/ed.
    **Relevant experience means:
Experience in the specific area such as management, tourism, etc.
Referees reports to help assess an applicant's eligibility may be required.

  3. Applicants for Graduate Diploma courses - an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

  4. ALL courses - proof of suitable English Language Proficiency.

Documentary evidence of educational qualifications must be included in your application, UNLESS you are currently studying Year 12 at a Victorian secondary school and are applying through VTAC.

If you need to establish how the educational level of the qualification you have completed overseas compares with an Australian qualification, you can apply for an educational assessment from NOOSR, the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition. The results of this assessment should be included with your application.  Alternatively send an email to our Student Support Unit stating your country and your highest qualification title [ssu@meg.edu.au]

Credit

Credit for courses or subjects (units) undertaken at another institution may be granted by us, and exemptions granted accordingly.

Relevant information and documentary evidence must be included with your application. This includes:

  • Full documentation of studies completed

  • Official details of grading system

  • An indication of the subjects you are enrolled in but have not yet completed

  • The course syllabus including subject details

Each Credit application is dealt with on a case by case basis after enrolment. The applications are considered by our Credit Transfer Committee and students notified of the outcome.

If Credit is granted and the course duration is shortened as a result, we will report this to DIAC.
