Protecting your interests is our priority and we fully comply with the requirements of the Australian Government under:

  • Education Services for Overseas Students Act (ESOS Act) and related legislation

  • Commonwealth Register of Institutions & Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS)

  • Overseas Tuition Assurance Scheme (OSTAS)

Legislation

To protect the interests of overseas students, the Education Services for Overseas Students ESOS Act 2000 regulates providers of education.  Refer to the ESOS section of the DEST website for more information on provider obligations and student safeguards.  The legislation also seeks to ensure the integrity of the education industry through visa-related reporting requirements [www.dest.gov.au].

Melbourne Education Group and our associated entities are fully compliant with obligations under the ESOS Act, Regulations and National Code of Practice.

National Code

CRICOS

All courses offered to overseas students must be registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students, CRICOS.  We report to Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) on overseas student activity using CRICOS.  This includes attendance and course performance.  For further information see the DEST website [www.dest.gov.au].

OSTAS

We are underwritten by OSTAS, the Overseas Students Tertiary Assurance Scheme, which will find an alternative course for overseas students if we cease to offer a particular course.  For further information see the ACPET website [www.acpet.edu.au].
