Teaching and Learning

Melbourne Education Group and our collaboration partners promote excellence, innovation and flexibility in teaching to maximise student performance within the learning environment. We contend that effective learning involves a complex interaction of active and receptive processes. Teaching at MEG is founded upon student engagement as active participants in the learning process. This means ideas and views expressed as part of that active engagement ought to be appreciated and respected by others involved in the teaching and learning process.

Equally important is the quality of our teaching staff. It has always been policy that, where possible, staff involved in teaching key discipline areas also have current practising competence. This means current practising professionals such as lawyers, psychologists and business professionals teach throughout the various programs. These staff are further supported by our academic team and overseen by the Higher Education Board, currently chaired by Professor Chris Trotter.

MEG also has a variety of awards available which aim to recognise and promote teaching excellence and innovation throughout the programs.

We also provide professional development opportunities for our staff to ensure innovative contemporary teaching practices are maintained throughout the operation.
